Rio Salado College
Chris Bustamante is a former president of Rio Salado College, one of the largest public online colleges in the nation. Rio Salado College serves more than 67,000 students annually including more than 41,000 online. Bustamante is a well-known advocate for increasing access to higher education for traditionally underserved populations. He has served in other leadership roles at the college including, vice president of community development and student services and dean of academic affairs. Bustamante also served as the director of government relations and external affairs for the Maricopa County Community College District. Bustamante earned a B.A. in business administration from the University of Arizona, and an M.A. and doctorate in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.
