We are pleased to release two documents relating to SARA: the NC-SARA 2018 Enrollment Report (available HERE) and the NC-SARA Out-of-State Learning Placements Report (available HERE). SARA institutions each spring report their enrollment data to NC-SARA; this analysis covers the third annual reporting period.

The 2018 Enrollment Report summarizes and analyzes the reported enrollments of 1,791 SARA institutions. Those institutions reported combined out-of-state enrollments of 1,225,022 students. The institutional response rate for the enrollment survey was 99.3%; non-responding institutions have been contacted and have committed to report in the future.

For the Out-of-State Learning Placements, we are pleased to report that 297 institutions submitted out-of-state learning placements voluntarily for this first year of data collection; this represents an overall 16.5 % response rate.  The relative size of the sectors reporting out-of-state learning placements closely mirrors the results in the 2018 Enrollment Report. The institutions reported a total of 32,931 out-of-state learning placements to NC-SARA.

As of October 23, 2018, 49 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands are members of SARA; and more than 1,800 institutions participate in SARA.
