  • Download the 2026 SARA Policy Modification Process Calendar.

    • Policy Implementation Dates – Approved policy is expected to become effective no sooner than July 1, 2027, however the final determinations are made by the Regional Education Compacts via their Regional Steering Committees (RSCs) and will be announced in November 2026.

    • Approved Policy Overviews – Webinars for SARA Member States and SARA Participating Institutions are planned for November 2026 and May 2027 to review approved policy(s) and provide practical insights for implementation. A live Q&A will occur during both programs. More information, registration, and the recordings will be found on the NC-SARA webinars page.

  • Process Documentation – Detailed overviews of the SARA Policy Modification Process are available for review through supplemental tables, flowcharts, and workflow narratives.
  • SARA Policy Modification Process Implementation Leadership
    • The SARA Policy Modification Process Implementation Team Working Group (aka “PIT Working Group”), composed of a subset of members from the larger Policy Modification Process Implementation Team (aka “PIT Crew”), is responsible for leadership and day-to-day administration of the SARA Policy Modification Process. Members of the PIT Working Group meet twice a month, as well as every other month with the larger PIT Crew keeping them apprised during all stages of the PMP cycle, soliciting input and feedback, and ensuring engagement with each region’s regional steering committee.
