  • Registration Open Now for the 2025 SPE Annual ConferenceGet ready for an exciting lineup of activities at the upcoming SPE Annual Conference in Salt Lake City (Utah), September 9-11, 2025! Dive into informative pre-conference sessions covering essential topics like state meeting planning, SARA application processing, and hands-on SARA Portal assistance. Engage in dynamic conference sessions featuring discussions on state updates, SARA grants, student complaint management, the role of AI in higher education, and more. Wear your favorite team paraphernalia to the fun-filled Game Night Welcome Event, celebrate fellow peers at the SPE Awards and Recognition luncheon, and network with colleagues at group dinner outings. There are still opportunities to volunteer as a panelist, moderator, or event leader.

    The link to register for the conference was sent to invitees in an individualized invitation from Zoom Events on Tuesday, June 17th. Please use the email address where the invitation was sent to register. The registration process will include information about hotel room reservations and the schedule at-a-glance. Special thanks to Cyd Grua (UT SPE) for curating a list of activities that you might consider exploring during your visit to Utah. Please keep in mind the following details as you register and book your travels:

    • Meeting format: The SPE Annual Conference will be face-to-face. There will be no virtual option as the conference is interactive by design.
    • Where: Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek in Salt Lake City, UT
    • Who is invited/attends: Up to 2 SPEs per state, regional compact SARA staff, NC-SARA staff, NC-SARA board members, and presenters/facilitators.
    • Registration fee: There is no registration fee associated with the conference for any attendee, but you will need to register. Please be sure to register by Friday, August 8.
    • NC-SARA pays for travel expenses for up to 2 SPEs per state, including:
      • 2 nights of hotel
      • Airfare
      • Other travel expenses (tips, tolls, miles to airport, parking at airport, meals, etc.)

  • The Application and Approval Form for Institution Participation in SARA has been updated and will be effective July 1, 2025.
    • The application has been updated to reflect the pending effective date of PMP24-0630 approved during the 2024 PMP cycle regarding “professional licensure disclosure requirements”, as well as minor administrative changes. For reference, the new policy can be found in the SARA Policy Manual subsection 5.2 Programs leading to professional licensure.
    • As a courtesy, we are providing the final version on the SPE website now so those who may need to revise their own electronic systems to reflect the changes to align with the July 1, 2025, implementation date can do so.
    • Institutions should continue to submit the current application on our public website until June 30, 2025.
    • To easily identify the latest updates and changes to the application, you will also find a redline version below, which will also be publicly posted to the NC-SARA webpage under the new application in mid-May.
