The FY27 SARA State & Territory Grant Application is now open!

NC-SARA is pleased to announce that a collective pool of SARA revenue has been allocated to SARA State & Territory Grants for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) to focus directly on state support. Each SPE agency may apply for a grant to support SARA-related continuous education, initiatives, and enhancements. SPEs may request up to $7,500 per annual application period. Important dates for the application period can be found below.

Potential uses for these grant funds include, but are not limited to:

  • Updating and improving digital infrastructure
  • Improving data collection quality, including metrics used
  • Multi-state regional and/or interregional collaboration
  • Training and/or professional development (e.g., webinar access or conference attendance)
    Membership fees
  • Updating and improving authorization processes
  • Assessment of current operations
  • External consultants

Please note that funds must be allocated and spent within FY27. The FY27 funds should be expended by June 30, 2027.

Applications must be submitted through the SARA Portal. Instructions for submitting applications are available in the SARA State & Territory Grant Applications article on the SARA Support Site.

Important Dates:
Application Period Opens: June 3, 2026
Application Due: June 30, 2026
Review of Applications: July 2026
Award Notification: July 29-31, 2026
Annual Report Due: August 31, 2027
