NC-SARA Terms and Conditions

These “Terms and Conditions of Use” constitute the contractual agreement between you and NC-SARA regarding the use of our website (www.nc-sara.org) and any activities or transactions you many conduct through this site. Your use of our website constitutes your agreement to abide by these Terms and Conditions. This statement contains our commitment to you concerning your privacy and how NC-SARA may use information you provide.

Information We Collect

No personal information is collected unless you choose to provide that information to us.

If you choose to provide personal information by sending an e-mail or by submitting a form via our website, we use that information to respond to your message and to help us fulfill your request. We may also use your personal information to update our internal database of contacts and members, access to which is restricted to NC-SARA staff. NC-SARA will not use, or allow others to use, our member directory information for any solicitations or promotions other than to provide information about SARA.

If you do nothing during your visit but browse through the website, we will gather and store only standard Internet log information, such as (but not limited to) the host system, time, and duration of visits to our pages.

Materials that appear in any sections of the website restricted to SARA member states or SARA institutions are copyrighted with all rights reserved.

All information provided by users (including, but not limited to: e-mails, posting to listservs, and blog entries) shall be the property of NC-SARA. NC-SARA may use any materials provided within the limitations of the Fair Information Practice policies without restriction or compensation.

Acceptable Use

NC-SARA's website is a forum for sharing information pertinent to our mission and facilitating civil discussion of related issues. NC-SARA seeks to protect the NC-SARA community from irresponsible or illegal activities. Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to: transmission of offensive or obscene materials, impersonation of others, unsolicited commercial or political appeals, transmission of annoying or defamatory material, access to services not authorized for that user, violation of the privacy of others, infringement of copyrights, disruption of service, or any illegal activity. Unacceptable use is determined at the sole discretion of NC-SARA staff. Materials on the site may be removed by NC-SARA staff at any time without providing reason or cause. NC-SARA staff will inform anyone accused of unacceptable use and seek to remedy the complaint, but NC-SARA retains the right to deny access to the site to anyone without stating reason or cause.

Institutional Fees and Refunds

SARA institutions pay their membership on an annual basis. NC-SARA does not provide refunds to institutions that withdraw during the course of their annual membership. Institutions may, of course, choose not to continue their membership.
