The new SARA Policy Modification Process is now in full swing for 2023. There were originally 63 proposed modifications to SARA Policy, and during the first period to amend or withdraw, seven policies were amended (and none were withdrawn).

Three important SARA Policy-related events are now upon us, and this announcement contains all the information you need for getting involved!

  1. The period for public comments on SARA Policy modification proposals is open April 17 through May 17, 2023.
  2. The NC-SARA Board’s Spring meeting public session is open for registration, during which board members will hear updates about and discuss some of the policy proposals in preparation for their votes during the Fall 2023 meeting.
  3. The SARA Policy Modification Process Public Forum #2 registration is open starting April 17, 2023.

SARA Policy Modification Process: Public Comments Period Open

As of April 17, 2023, the proposed SARA Policy modifications are open for public comments. View the proposals on the policy modification webpage, and then follow the guidelines there to provide your comments on any of these proposals. Following these guidelines will help assure that your comments will move forward for consideration as expeditiously as possible.

Please note: Public comments will be made publicly available shortly after an initial review.

The public comment period closes on May 17, 2023.

Spring 2023 NC-SARA Board Meeting Public Session Registration Open

The public is invited to register to attend a livestream broadcast of the public session of NC-SARA’s Spring 2023 Board Meeting, which will focus on updates and discussion about the SARA Policy Modification Process. The public session will not be recorded; it is a livestream event only.

SARA Policy Modification Process Public Forum #2 Registration Open

On June 7, 2023, from 10am – 2pm Mountain Time, NC-SARA will host the second of two public SARA Policy forums, during which those individuals or organizations who submitted proposals to modify SARA Policy will have the opportunity to present their proposals publicly. The final schedule of presentations will be posted on the SARA Policy Announcements webpage in early June.

The public forum will not be recorded; it is a livestream event only.
