More than 1,500 colleges and universities participate, and institution renewal rates are above 99 percent. NC-SARA is financially stable, relying on institutional fees for its funding. NC-SARA works closely with the country’s four regional education compacts: the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC), the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE), the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE).
