Emilie Crawford (Emily Jacobson)

Emilie joined NC-SARA in 2022. As the Director, State Partnerships & Services, she solicits feedback from state partners and works to support the creation and enhancement of tools, resources, and activities that best meet the states’ needs. Emilie collaborates closely with NC-SARA’s educational programs, policy, and information technology teams to gauge practicality and drive implementation processes forward. She shares updates and gathers feedback through convenings and direct outreach initiatives to ensure transparency, engagement, and continuous improvement in the implementation of SARA.

Prior to joining NC-SARA, Emilie served at a partnering organization as the Director for the Midwestern State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (M-SARA) at the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). Emilie was with MHEC for eight years and worked with the development, administration, and oversight of M-SARA. Throughout her career she has held positions in higher education and healthcare geared towards promotion, outreach and recruitment. She supported student- and faculty-based programs at the institutional level and engaged with clients and clinical systems in the business development and public affairs spaces. Emilie thrives on building relationships, enjoys training and education, and is passionate about making the world a more diverse and equitable place.
